BDO is seeking a qualified professional for the position of Senior Consultant in the Corporate Tax business unit within the Tax Department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Corporate Tax.

1. Assist BDO in achieving its financial targets by promoting the BDO brand, business development, enhancing technical tax expertise, and delivering excellent client service in accordance with BDO values.
2. Ensure quality control of all deliverables and compliance with BDO's risk policies and procedures to meet statutory deadlines.
3. Apply theoretical knowledge practically by utilizing a sound understanding of basic tax laws.
4. Produce work of high technical standard and accuracy.
5. Gather information efficiently from various sources using effective research tools.
6. Assist in researching and preparing proposals.
7. Prepare income tax computations and ensure accuracy.
8. Prepare and review income tax returns and supporting schedules.
9. Prepare and review provisional tax calculations.
10. Handle objections and appeals related to tax matters.
11. Support clients with tax issues, SARS audits, and queries.
12. Adapt to a dynamic work environment and accommodate changing client demands.
13. Liaise with SARS as required.
14. Manage and maintain strong client relationships.
15. Prepare and oversee budgets, manage debtors, and handle monthly invoicing.
16. Ensure high-quality work and client deliverables, while coaching and mentoring junior staff members.
