- Operate and monitor the incinerator to ensure proper functioning and efficient waste disposal
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on the incinerator to keep it in good working condition
- Keep accurate records of incinerator operations, maintenance, and repairs
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
- Train and supervise other crew members on proper incinerator operation and maintenance procedures
- Monitor and order necessary supplies and spare parts for the incinerator
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the incinerator in a timely manner
- Communicate with the onshore team to report any problems or request assistance when needed
- Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with incinerators, preferably in a maritime setting
- Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to incinerator operation
- Ability to work and live on board a ship for extended periods of time
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Valid seafarers' medical certificate and STCW certification
