A vacancy has arisen for the position of Registered Nurse 2ic in the TICU Unit at Life Wilgers Hospital, situated in Pretoria. This role reports to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of this unit and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.

• Perform basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
• Ensure the unit operates according to acceptable legal and ethical standards.
• Maintain excellent patient and customer care in line with Life Healthcare standards.
• Foster sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives, and the multi‑disciplinary team.
• Assist the Unit Manager in leading the TICU team to achieve clinical excellence.
• Support staff training to ensure clinical competence in a cardiothoracic intensive care environment.
• Build professional relationships with doctors and therapists to enhance patient–doctor interaction.
• Uphold Health, Safety, and Infection Control standards.
• Assist with managing the unit’s budget, including equipment maintenance, pharmacy stock control, stock holding, gross profit margins, and debtors days.
• Contribute to effective management of the Ward Management System and CBT.

• Critical Care qualification and registration with SANC.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Cardiology or Cardiothoracic ICU environment.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Team player, energetic, and well‑organized.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities.
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts.
