Job summary
A reputable recruitment agency based in Cape Town is seeking a Bookkeeper to manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance. The role involves processing invoices, maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, and preparing reconciliations. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and experience in accounting, along with proficiency in SAGE and PASTEL. This full-time position offers a salary of ZAR 20,000 per month.
Qualifications
- 5 years Bookkeeping Experience with tertiary qualification.
- 10 years Bookkeeping Experience without tertiary qualification.
- Strong knowledge of accounting to trial balance.

- Perform full bookkeeping function to trial balance.
- Process invoices, creditors, and debtors.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliation.

- Full bookkeeping function to trial balance
- Processing of invoices creditors and debtors
- Process cash books bank reconciliation supplier reconciliation
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliation and ensure accounts are appropriately balanced.
- Ensure validity and completeness of intercompany and related-party transactions.
- Prepare routine / non-complex journal entries
- Reconcile Salary / wages entries
- Prepare and assist in stock reconciliation
- Release payments and beneficiaries on the banking platform when required.
- Prepare VAT reconciliation working papers
- Ensure adherence to policies procedures budget limits and authority levels.
- Check completeness of supporting documentation.
- Participate in meetings provide policy feedback and assist in cash flow management and forecast.
- Adhoc duties.
- Tertiary qualification 5 years Bookkeeping Experience
- 10 years Bookkeeping Experience with no tertiary qualification
- Strong knowledge of accounting to trial balance
- Knowledge on VAT and statutory compliance
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in SAGE / PASTEL Excel Outlook Word
- Background in working with POS will be an advantage
