The company was formed in and is a black-owned and managed company with a Level 2 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) accreditation. We are seeking a senior Analyst to assist us with various functions of our corporate finance pillar, playing a pivotal role in deal origination, structuring, and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Deal Assessment and Advisory: Conduct financial reviews and analysis. Perform desktop valuation exercises and initial screening for financier engagement. Develop strategic alignment assessments to support investment decisions. Develop IFRS-compliant financial models, operational models, and valuation analyses. Prepare Information Memorandums and Pitchbooks for investor engagement. Execute financial, operational, and commercial due diligence. Assess optimal deal structures for transactions.
- Transaction Execution & Legal Review: Lead deal structuring and negotiations with stakeholders. Define transaction milestones and timelines. Liaise with financiers and manage due diligence processes. Negotiate term sheets and review facility agreements. Oversee CP fulfilment monitoring and financial close facilitation. Implement day strategic plans for post-transaction integration. Establish performance metrics and KPIs frameworks. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio monitoring and reporting. Evaluate financial ratios, risk dashboards, and benchmarking analyses.
- Board Submissions & Ad-Hoc Business Support: Prepare board packs and presentations (including quarterly reviews). Conduct weekly strategy sessions and cross-departmental coordination. Provide corporate action assessments and facilitate board approvals.
- Origination & Cross-Sell: Manage junior staff. Identify new client relationships and transaction opportunities.
Key Skills:
- Ability to conduct industry research, formulate and critically evaluate investment theses, rigorously interrogate and analyse information, articulate opinions, and distil through excellent report writing skills.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and risk assessment skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of value drivers.
- Presentation capabilities and refined verbal and written communications skills.
- A high degree of proficiency with various software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's and/or Post Graduate Degree in Business and/or Finance (or other if subsequent work experience in finance). Studying to become a Chartered Accountant CA(SA), Masters in Commerce, and/or pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst designations (Level 2 minimum).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years+ of relevant experience, which may include: Knowledge of alternative investment strategies such as buyouts, growth equity, and BEE transactions. Exposure to corporate finance, investment banking, leveraged finance, transaction advisory, or mergers and acquisitions. Strategy consulting which should include experience in valuation and due diligence, corporate finance, M&A, and/or private equity transactions.

Remuneration: Market-Related. Final salary will be based on the applicant's work experience.
