Placements24 is seeking a Youth Sports Program Coordinator for a Polokwane-based non-profit focused on youth development through sports. You will design and manage engaging programs for children and adolescents, coordinate schedules, and ensure safe, inclusive environments.

The role combines off-site planning with on-the-ground coordination in the Limpopo province, requiring strong leadership, recruitment and training of coaches, and effective stakeholder engagement to expand access to sport.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth development through sports in Polokwane , is seeking an enthusiastic Youth Sports Program Coordinator . This role is vital for developing, implementing, and managing engaging sports programs for children and adolescents. You will be responsible for recruiting participants, training coaches, organizing schedules, and ensuring a positive and safe sporting experience. This hybrid role allows for strategic planning and administrative work off-site, combined with crucial on-the-ground coordination and engagement within the Limpopo province, fostering a love for sports and healthy activity among young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, organize, and execute a diverse range of youth sports programs, leagues, and clinics across various age groups and sports.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer and paid coaches, providing guidance on program curriculum, safety protocols, and positive youth development principles.
• Manage program registration, participant communication, and scheduling of practices and games, ensuring efficient coordination.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, schools, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, implementing and enforcing all organizational policies and safety guidelines.
• Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and assist in fundraising efforts and grant applications related to youth sports initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience (2+ years) in youth sports program management, coaching, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and experience working with children and adolescents.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers and staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with registration software.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for program delivery and events.
