Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an inspiring Youth Mentor in Welkom to support adolescents in educational, personal and social growth within a structured mentorship program. You will build trust, model positive behaviors and guide mentees through challenges, both in person and remotely.

You will collaborate with parents, schools and community partners, tracking progress and adapting sessions to individual needs. Evening/weekend availability and reliable transport are essential for community mentoring.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth or in a mentoring capacity is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with adolescents.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support young people.
• Understanding of adolescent development and common challenges faced by youth.
• Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate mentee schedules.
• Access to reliable transportation for community-based mentoring sessions.
