Placements24 is seeking an inspiring Youth Support Mentor to work with young people in the Bloemfontein area. This role focuses on guiding and empowering youth, helping them navigate challenges and develop essential life skills.

The successful candidate will mentor individuals one-on-one, run engaging activities, collaborate with schools and families, and maintain confidential progress records to support youth growth in the Free State community.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience working with adolescents or young adults in mentoring, counseling, or coaching.
• Understanding of youth development principles and adolescent challenges.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting young people.
• Background check suitable for working with minors.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one mentoring and guidance to young individuals facing personal, social, or academic challenges.
• Develop and implement engaging activities and programs to build life skills, self-esteem, and resilience.
• Help youth set and achieve personal goals related to education, career, or personal development.
• Facilitate positive peer interactions and group activities.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, schools, and other support services to ensure holistic youth support.
