Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Youth Development Officer in Kimberley, Northern Cape, to empower young people through life skills, personal growth, and community engagement. The role involves collaborating with schools, NGOs, and community groups to deliver programs that unlock opportunities and enhance youth outcomes.

The candidate will design and run activities, mentor youths, and facilitate workshops while building strong partnerships to expand access to education and vocational training.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, or a related field.
• Experience working with youth, preferably in a development or support role.
• Understanding of adolescent development and the challenges facing young people.
• Strong program coordination and facilitation skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational abilities.
• Knowledge of local youth services and resources in the Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage youth development programs and activities.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to young individuals, helping them set and achieve personal goals.
• Facilitate workshops on life skills, career guidance, leadership, and civic engagement.
• Connect youth with educational, vocational training, and employment opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, NGOs, and community stakeholders in Kimberley.
• Monitor program progress and report on outcomes and impact for youth development initiatives.
