Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Youth Development Facilitator for a part-time program in Gauteng. The role focuses on guiding and mentoring youth, delivering life-skills workshops, and supporting personal growth within a safe, inclusive environment.

You will work with adolescents and young adults, build rapport, and collaborate with schools and families to ensure holistic development. A relevant qualification helps, with a flexible schedule and meaningful community impact.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with youth, particularly in a facilitation, mentoring, or educational role.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and youth empowerment.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and group management skills.
• Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for empowering young people.
• Experience in program planning and execution in non-profit or community settings.
• Proficiency with basic administrative tasks and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate activities/workshops on life skills and personal development for youth.
• Provide one-on-one mentoring and guidance to participants.
• Develop strategies to encourage active participation and positive engagement.
• Collaborate with schools, community partners, and families for holistic youth development.
• Monitor progress and document achievements and areas for development.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all participants in the program.
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new youth participants.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program methodologies.
• Represent the program at community events and meetings.
• Manage program resources and materials for effective workshop delivery.
