Express Employment Professionals Midrand is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with Mercedes‑Benz trucks know‑how to lead a busy workshop. The role requires 8–10 years in the industry and prior supervisory experience, with the ability to manage admin tasks and mentor junior staff.

The ideal candidate will work on Mercedes Star Diagnostics, perform bodywork and welding, and hold a valid SA EC licence. Willingness to overtime and cost control duties are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with Mercedes experience
• 8–10 years in the industry
• Managerial experience preferred
• Ability to work with Mercedes Star Diagnostics Computer System
• Bodywork and welding skills expected
• Valid South African EC driver’s licence
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work under pressure and handle overtime
• Capable of supervising workshop staff
• Mentor for branch Foreman and assist with admin tasks

Responsibilities

• Oversee workshop operations and supervise staff
• Mentor and manage the branch Workshop Foreman
• Handle licence administration and job card control
• Control costs, stock, and equipment; ensure proper documentation
• Proactively address mechanical breakdowns and overtime requirements
• Own tools are advantageous

• Ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to work overtime and ability to handle mechanical breakdowns.
• Ability to control and manage workshop staff
• Oversee other branch Workshop Foreman and act as a mentor
• Other administrative tasks including licence administration and job card control
• Responsible for the control of cost, stock, equipment including documentation
• Own tools will be advantages
