Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking a technically skilled Workshop Manager to lead our lodge vehicle workshop and fleet in the Eastern Cape. The role requires hands-on mechanical knowledge, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage a small team within a Big Five lodge environment.

Experience with diesel engines and Toyota vehicles is essential. You will ensure vehicle checks, maintenance, and stock control are conducted efficiently to support lodge operations and reserve activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all workshop operations and workflow.
• Manage the lodge’s fleet of game viewers and transport vehicles.
• Ensure weekly vehicle checks are completed and recorded accurately.
• Proactively address all vehicle maintenance issues.
• Assist with vehicle recoveries on the reserve and access roads.
• Manage procurement of vehicle parts and repairs.
• Maintain accurate stock records for vehicle parts.
• Lead and supervise a small workshop team.
• Work closely with lodge management to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

Essential Requirements

• Experience working on diesel engines
• Experience working on Toyota vehicles
• Highly organised and meticulous with tools, stock, and record‑keeping
• Excellent communication skills

Desired Requirements

• Experience in a lodge or game reserve workshop environment
• Experience with heavy machinery (e.g., tractors)
• Experience managing a fleet of vehicles

Key Responsibilities
