Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Wireless Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize wireless infrastructure across Queenstown and surrounding areas in South Africa. The role focuses on ensuring reliable cellular and Wi‑Fi services for enterprise and regional coverage.

The ideal candidate has a strong RF background, 5+ years in wireless engineering, and hands-on experience with RF planning tools, 4G/5G, and 802.11ac/ax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in EE, CS, or related field.
• At least 5 years' experience in wireless network engineering.
• Strong RF principles and wireless protocol knowledge.
• Experience with RF planning tools and field deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain wireless networks including cellular and Wi‑Fi.
• Perform RF site surveys and capacity analysis for optimal coverage.
• Configure and troubleshoot access points, controllers, and devices.
• Monitor network health and implement proactive downtime reductions.
• Stay updated on emerging wireless technologies and security best practices.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Wireless Network Engineer to manage and optimize their wireless infrastructure in and around Queenstown . This role is critical for ensuring reliable and high-performance wireless connectivity services across their network. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of wireless networks, including cellular and Wi-Fi technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in radio frequency (RF) principles and wireless protocols, coupled with a commitment to delivering exceptional network quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain robust wireless networks, including cellular base stations and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions.
• Perform RF site surveys, network planning, and capacity analysis to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot wireless access points, controllers, and related network devices.
• Monitor wireless network health, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime.
• Stay current with emerging wireless technologies and security best practices in the telecoms industry.

Requirements
