About the Role

Our client, a renowned winery in the heart of the Cape Winelands, is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Wine Educator to join their team in Paarl. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional tasting experiences and educational insights to visitors from around the globe. You will be responsible for leading wine tastings, explaining varietals, winemaking processes, and the unique terroir of the region. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and a deep passion for wine, dedicated to enhancing guest satisfaction and promoting the winery's brand through memorable educational encounters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead guided wine tastings and tours for individuals and groups of various sizes.
• Educate guests on grape varietals, wine production methods, food pairings, and winery history.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for all visitors.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the winery's portfolio, including current vintages and special releases.
• Assist with inventory management and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of tasting areas.
• Represent the winery professionally at events and during public interactions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in wine education, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role.
• Strong knowledge of viticulture, oenology, and wine regions, particularly those of South Africa.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Formal wine certification (e.g., WSET Level 2 or higher) is highly advantageous.
