Placements24 is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician in Mahikeng to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure optimal performance of wind turbines.

The role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, hands-on work at heights, and the ability to interpret technical drawings while adhering to safety protocols. You will join our operations team and contribute to reliable renewable energy generation in challenging weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Certification for working at heights and confined spaces.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good physical condition and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on wind turbine systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults and failures in turbines, identifying root causes.
• Conduct inspections and performance tests on wind turbine equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand and power tools and following technical manuals.
• Work safely at heights and in challenging environmental conditions.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and performance data accurately.
