Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Technician to maintain and repair wind turbines at our sites near Bloemfontein. The role requires working at heights, following strict safety protocols, and supporting the growth of renewable energy in the Free State.

You will install, inspect, and service turbines, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components, and keep meticulous records of maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Proven experience as Wind Turbine Technician or in heavy machinery maintenance.
• Ability to work at significant heights and in demanding environmental conditions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics and maintenance on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on turbine components.
• Install new equipment and assist with major component replacements.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and according to standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service reports and parts inventory.
