Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Wind Turbine Technician to join our client’s operations team in the Eastern Cape. The role covers inspection, maintenance and repair of wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and reliability, with work on-site at Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas.

You will handle mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, work at heights, and follow strict lockout/tagout and fall protection procedures.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Wind Energy Technology.
• Experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic tests on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on turbine components.
• Safely ascend and work at heights within turbine towers to access equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repairs performed.
• Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and fall protection protocols.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines as required.
