Job summary

Scatec ASA is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Wind in South Africa to drive electrical design across utility-scale wind projects. You will own engineering activities from development to operations, coordinate technical assessments, and ensure compliance with grid codes and contractual requirements.

You will collaborate with utilities, EPC and O&M teams, applying AutoCAD and HV expertise to deliver safe, reliable wind assets and contribute to Scatec's renewable energy portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years' electrical or electromechanical experience, incl. 3+ years in renewable energy.
• 4+ years in a project environment with utility-scale wind project design and execution.
• 3+ years in electrical distribution and reticulation design.
• Experience using AutoCAD and engineering drawings.
• Experience with high-voltage networks, substations, and grid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead allocated electrical engineering activities for wind projects across development, structuring, execution and operations.
• Coordinate technical assessments, investigations, and engineering deliverables.
• Review technical docs and contractual requirements including PPAs and Grid Codes.
• Support procurement through technical input into RFPs and supplier evaluations.
• Ensure electrical designs meet project structuring requirements during construction.
• Engage utilities, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical matters.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning, incl. design changes and site inspections.
• Support project close-out and Technical Take Over (TTO).
