Job summary

Scatec is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Wind to drive electrical design for utility-scale wind projects in South Africa. You will own engineering activities from development through operations, coordinating technical assessments, drawings, and grid compliance.

This role interacts with utilities, EPCs, and the operations team to deliver safe, reliable wind assets. You will leverage your 7+ years in electrical or electromechanical engineering within renewables and your AutoCAD experience to

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic or electromechanical engineering.
• 7+ years electrical/electromechanical experience, including 3+ years in renewables.
• 4+ years in a project environment with wind project design and execution.
• 3+ years in electrical distribution and reticulation design.
• Experience with high-voltage networks and grid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own allocated electrical engineering and design activities across wind projects.
• Develop technical business cases, specifications, and electrical design requirements.
• Coordinate technical assessments, due diligence, and engineering deliverables.
• Review documentation including PPAs, Grid Codes, and EPC/O&M contracts.
• Support procurement with technical input for RFPs and supplier evaluations.
• Ensure construction designs reflect project structuring electrical requirements.
• Engage with utilities, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.
• Support project close-out and Technical Take Over (TTO).
