Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Well Integrity Engineer to join our client’s operations team in Polokwane, South Africa. The role focuses on ensuring integrity and reliability of wells from drilling through abandonment, to prevent leaks and safeguard operations.

You will develop well integrity management systems, conduct assessments, oversee intervention programs, and liaise with drilling, completions and production teams to mitigate risks and ensure environmental protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in well integrity, completions, or production engineering in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of wellhead equipment, downhole tools, and cementing technology.
• Knowledge of well integrity standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 16530-1, API RP 96).
• Proficiency in well integrity software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement well integrity management systems (WIMS) in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular well integrity assessments and analyses, including pressure testing, downhole inspection, and component failure analysis.
• Manage and oversee well integrity assurance programs, ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
• Plan and supervise well intervention activities, such as repairs, workovers, and zonal isolation.
• Analyze well integrity data and recommend preventative or corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all well integrity activities and findings.
• Liaise with drilling, completions, and production teams on well integrity matters.
