Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer for our client in Upington, South Africa, to ensure the safe and reliable operation of an extensive pipeline network.

You will develop and execute integrity management programs, oversee inspections, assess corrosion monitoring results, and recommend repair, rehabilitation, or replacement strategies while prioritizing risk and maintaining regulatory compliance with API 1160.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in pipeline engineering or pipeline integrity management within Oil & Gas.
• Strong understanding of pipeline materials, corrosion mechanisms, and NDT methods.
• Experience with integrity management software and risk assessment techniques.
• Knowledge of pipeline regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans and procedures.
• Plan and oversee pipeline inspections, assessments, and testing activities.
• Analyze inspection data and corrosion monitoring results to assess pipeline condition and remaining life.
• Recommend appropriate repair, rehabilitation, or replacement strategies for pipelines.
• Manage risk assessment activities to prioritize integrity threats and mitigation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant pipeline safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., API 1160).
