Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Well Integrity Engineer in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, for a hybrid role combining on-site supervision and remote analysis. You will develop and manage the Well Integrity Management System, perform risk assessments, and oversee testing programs throughout the life cycle of wells.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in well integrity or related subsurface roles, a relevant engineering degree, and strong analytical and communication skills to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in well integrity or subsurface roles within Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of well construction, downhole equipment and failure mechanisms.
• Experience with WIMS development/implementation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Well Integrity Management System (WIMS).
• Conduct regular well integrity assessments and risk analyses.
• Oversee planning and execution of testing and monitoring programs.
• Review well design and completion strategies from an integrity perspective.
• Ensure compliance with standards, regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Manage well barrier testing and verification processes.
• Analyze data and identify potential issues or risks.
• Specify requirements for well repair and intervention operations.
• Collaborate with drilling, completions, and production engineers.
• Prepare well integrity reports and recommendations for management.
• Maintain accurate well integrity records and databases.
