About the Role

Our client, a leading energy exploration and production company, is seeking an accomplished and strategic Lead Well Integrity Engineer to manage and enhance their well integrity programs in Centurion, Gauteng. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the long-term integrity and safety of the company's wells throughout their lifecycle, from drilling and completion to P&A. The Lead Well Integrity Engineer will develop and implement comprehensive well integrity management systems, conduct risk assessments, oversee monitoring programs, and provide expert technical guidance. You will collaborate closely with drilling, completions, production, and maintenance teams to foster a strong well integrity culture. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct barrier testing, risk assessments, and integrity reviews to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and manage well integrity monitoring programs, including P&A strategies and execution oversight.
• Provide expert technical advice on well integrity issues, including downhole equipment failures, casing/cementing issues, and subsurface leakage.
• Oversee and approve well design and drilling programs from an integrity perspective.
• Manage well integrity data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international well integrity standards and regulations.
• Lead incident investigations related to well integrity failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of well integrity awareness and best practices.
• Mentor and develop junior well integrity engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in well integrity engineering, encompassing drilling, completions, and production phases.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing Well Integrity Management Systems (WIMS).
• In-depth knowledge of wellbore construction, completion components, P&A techniques, and materials science relevant to well integrity.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZID, FMEA) applied to well integrity.
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., API, ISO) and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the operational context in Gauteng is beneficial.
• Professional certifications in well integrity or related fields are highly desirable.
