Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to manufacture and assemble gates, fencing components, and security-fencing elements to precise specifications. You will perform MIG welding, read measurements from job cards, and ensure weld quality and dimensional accuracy.

You will maintain equipment and housekeeping in a safe fabrication area and assist with other steel-work manufacturing needs as required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and fabricate gates to approved dimensions, specifications and job requirements.
• Fabricate fencing components, brackets, supports and related steelwork.
• Manufacture razor wire brackets and associated security-fencing components.
• Perform general MIG welding and steel fabrication.
• Measure, mark, cut, fit and assemble steel accurately.
• Read and work from measurements, sketches, job cards and production instructions.
• Check finished work for alignment, weld quality, dimensions and overall workmanship.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools and a safe, orderly fabrication work area.
• Assist with other steel-work manufacturing requirements as operationally required.
