Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal seeks a skilled welder/boilermaker to fabricate, weld and repair mining equipment and structures. You will read drawings and interpret fabrication specifications to meet precise requirements.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, bending and shaping steel, performing MIG/TIG/arc welding as required, and assisting with installation and alignment of plant and equipment on site.

• Perform fabrication, welding and boilermaking activities on mining equipment and structures.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on plant equipment, chutes, hoppers, conveyors, pipelines and structural components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and fabrication specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend and shape steel and other materials according to specifications.
• Carry out MIG, TIG, arc and/or CO welding as required.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on structural steelwork and mechanical components.
• Assist with the installation, modification and alignment of plant and equipment.
• Inspect equipment and structures to identify defects, damage and potential failures.
