Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead water resource management and infrastructure projects in Upington, Northern Cape. The role requires on-site site assessments and community engagement, with planning and reporting conducted remotely.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver water supply, wastewater, dam management, and drought mitigation initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong civil/environmental engineering background, 7+ years in water-related

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
7+ years of project management experience in water infrastructure.
Experience with water supply, wastewater, dam engineering, or irrigation.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, execution, and completion of water infrastructure projects.
Manage scope, budgets, schedules, and resources per client and company standards.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, geology, and environmental science.
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and environmental impact analyses.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water-use permits.
Oversee stakeholder engagement with government agencies and communities.
Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
Monitor risks, issues, and project progress, implementing mitigations.
Ensure quality of technical reports, designs, and supervision of construction.
