Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee water resource management and infrastructure projects in the Upington, Northern Cape region. You will work with engineers, environmental scientists, communities, and government bodies to ensure successful project outcomes and sustained water security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resource Management, or related field.
• 6+ years of project management experience in water infrastructure or resource management.
• Knowledge of water engineering principles, environmental assessments, and regulations.
• Experience with MS Project and GIS is beneficial.
• PMP certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of water resource management projects.
• Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans with schedules, resources, and budgets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers and environmental specialists.
• Oversee dam construction, pipelines, water treatment facilities, and irrigation schemes.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage project finances including cost control, invoicing, and reporting.
• Liaise with government agencies, municipalities, and communities.
• Document lessons learned through post-project evaluations.
