Placements24 is seeking an experienced Water Resource Engineer to join our client’s Upington-based team in the Northern Cape. The role focuses on sustainable management, planning and design of water resources infrastructure, including supply systems, dams, and treatment facilities.

You will conduct feasibility studies, develop designs, manage projects, and ensure compliance with South African water regulations. A strong background in hydrology, hydraulics and modeling is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with water resources focus.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced design and modeling.
• ECSA professional registration required or preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in water resource engineering.

Responsabilités

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for water resource projects.
• Design water infrastructure including pipelines, canals, dams, and treatment plants.
• Perform feasibility studies, impact assessments, and option evaluations.
• Develop and use water resource modeling software (HEC-RAS, EPANET, MODFLOW).
• Prepare technical reports, specs, and design drawings.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and environmental policies.
• Conduct site investigations and supervise construction as needed.
• Contribute to sustainable water management strategies.
