Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for a consultancy role in Klerksdorp, North West. You will manage and develop water and wastewater systems, including supply, treatment, and distribution networks, to support sustainable water management for communities in the region.

The role requires a Bachelors in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA, at least 6 years of municipal water resources experience, proficiency with EPANET/WaterGEMS and GIS, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in water resources engineering, with practical experience in municipal infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterGEMS) and GIS.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Knowledge of South African water legislation and standards.
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing projects and working with municipal clients in Klerksdorp.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to undertake site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage projects related to water supply, wastewater collection, and stormwater management systems.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis of water distribution networks and treatment processes.
• Develop water conservation and management strategies.
• Prepare feasibility studies, design reports, and construction drawings.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning of water infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and water quality standards.
