Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources or Environmental focus.
• Pr. Eng. or Candidate Engineer registration with ECSA required.
• Minimum 5 years' design experience in water and wastewater infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop water supply systems, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
• Plan and design wastewater collection systems, including sewer networks and lift stations, as well as wastewater treatment facilities.
• Develop stormwater management plans and designs, including culverts, channels, and detention basins.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and wastewater systems using industry-standard software.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction cost estimates.
• Perform site investigations and assessments to inform design decisions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national, provincial, and local regulations and standards (e.g., SANS, DWAF guidelines).
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and construction teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information during the construction phase.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and the development of new business opportunities.
