Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to lead design and oversight of water infrastructure projects in the Eastern Cape. You will work on water supply, wastewater, flood control, and catchment management, ensuring sustainable resources for communities and industries.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering background with a focus on water resources and at least 6 years of relevant experience, including hydraulic modeling proficiency (HEC-RAS, EPANET).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a Water Resources focus.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in water resource management and infrastructure design.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic modeling and water quality regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage water supply systems including dams, pipelines, and treatment plants.
• Perform hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment and management.
• Develop plans for wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure.
• Assess water resource availability and implement sustainable use strategies.
• Prepare environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with water legislation.
• Oversee construction and maintenance of water infrastructure projects.
