Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Civil Engineer with Water Resources expertise to lead design, analysis and delivery of water infrastructure in Mossel Bay. You will oversee dams, pipelines, stormwater systems and associated fieldwork, coordinating teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a PrEng license in SA, 8+ years of relevant experience, and strong CAD/ hydraulic modeling skills to ensure compliant, sustainable projects for the Western Cape community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in water resource engineering and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET) and CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of South African water legislation and environmental regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water resource availability and management strategies.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for water infrastructure projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct site investigations and supervise construction activities for water-related projects.
• Liaise with clients, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure project success.
