Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a focus on Water Resources to lead design and delivery of water supply, treatment and distribution projects in Port Elizabeth. The role requires strong hydraulic modeling, GIS skills, and a professional engineer designation with ECSA.

You will work on hydrological studies, regulatory permitting, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure sustainable water management and infrastructure development in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant water resource engineering experience.
  • Pr Eng registration with ECSA is required.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, SWMM) and GIS tools.
  • Strong understanding of water quality regulations and sustainable management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
  • Conduct hydrological studies and develop models for flood control and planning.
  • Perform hydraulic analysis for wastewater facilities.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer focused on Water Resources to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for managing and developing sustainable water infrastructure, addressing challenges related to supply, treatment, and distribution. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing solutions for water conservation and management projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage water supply, treatment, and distribution systems, including pipelines, reservoirs, and pumping stations.

  • Perform hydraulic analysis and design for wastewater collection and treatment facilities.
  • Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory permit applications for water-related projects.
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of water infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, urban planners, and other stakeholders to integrate water resource management into broader development plans in Port Elizabeth .
