Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
• Previous medical reception experience essential.
• Experience as a doctor's receptionist or in a private medical practice preferred.
• Pediatric practice experience advantageous.
• Medical software knowledge is essential.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans, Afrikaans fluency important.
• Strong computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage the practice diary and appointments.
• Answer and attend to incoming calls.
• Process cash and credit card payments and issue receipts.
• Manage stock control and re-order stock when required.
• Create and maintain patient files.
• Provide general administrative support.
• Ensure smooth and effective functioning of the practice.
• Ensure the reception area is neat, tidy and presentable.
• Maintain professional patient service.
• Maintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient information.
• Communicate with patients and families via telephone and WhatsApp.
• Assist with day-to-day administrative requirements.
