Qualifications

• Experience leading warehouse teams in logistics or distribution.

Responsibilities

About the Role Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce fulfillment center located in Port Elizabeth, seeks a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor. This hybrid role requires active on-site presence to manage daily warehouse activities, supervise a team of warehouse staff, and ensure operational efficiency, while also allowing for remote work for administrative and planning tasks. You will be instrumental in overseeing inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving processes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management systems, a proven ability to lead and motivate teams, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the optimization of a critical supply chain hub, with the flexibility to blend on-site leadership with off-site strategic planning. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including order pickers, packers, and forklift operators.
• Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, put-away, stock counts, and cycle counting.
• Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and dispatch, meeting service level agreements.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations, maintaining a secure and hazard-free warehouse environment.
• Manage the efficient flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
• Operate and optimize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage operations.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to the team.
• Collaborate with logistics and transportation departments to ensure seamless delivery operations.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Participate in strategic planning meetings, potentially remotely, to contribute to long-term operational goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software.
• Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in both a hands-on, on-site capacity and remotely for planning purposes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
