Job summary

University of Fort Hare is seeking a Specialist: Systems Administrator (VMware Certified) on a 6 months contract. The role focuses on administering data-centre systems, virtualization, Active Directory, DNS, and patch management to ensure high uptime.

You will work within the Information Technology team to support provincial and municipal offices. Required are deep Windows Server skills, VMware certification, and experience with SCCM/SCOM.

Qualifications

• Microsoft server administration experience required.
• Experience with data-centre operations and uptime
• Knowledge of virtualization and VMware technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage data-centre systems as part of the team.
• Support servers, storage, backups, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Coordinate changes and ensure 99.999% uptime for data-centre operations.
• Provide third-level support and maintain security posture.
