Job summary

Cape Peninsula University of Technology seeks an Enterprise Systems Specialist focusing on Virtualization to maintain and optimise our enterprise virtualisation and related infrastructure. You will ensure availability, performance, and stability of virtualised servers aligned with institutional objectives.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in IT/CS, 4+ years of VMware experience, and relevant certifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least four (4) years’ experience in VMware or enterprise virtualisation platforms
• Relevant VMware, virtualisation or infrastructure certifications will be advantageous
• Experience with enterprise server, storage and data centre environments
• Experience with high availability, clustering and performance optimisation
• Experience in the Higher Education environment will be advantageous

Job Purpose

To support and administer the enterprise virtualisation environment and associated infrastructure services within ICTS. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and stability ofvirtualised server environments and supporting enterprise systems aligned to institutional operational and technology objectives.
