Job summary

Marula Platinum Limited seeks a Safety-focused professional to assist production personnel in maintaining a safe and healthy underground environment. The role centers on monitoring ventilation and occupational hygiene, evaluating conditions, and reporting findings to improve safety and efficiency.

The successful candidate will coord in ventilation construction, monitor dust, gas, noise, and environmental conditions, and produce systematic reports.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Equivalent with Mathematics and Physical Science is essential.
• Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control will be advantageous.
• 2 years underground experience (Trackless Mining), of which stoping and development preferred is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating Ventilation Construction and Sanitation crews.
• Monitor and control installation and commissioning ventilation systems.
• Monitor underground occupational exposure conditions for dust, air, gases and vapour, noise, water, temperature, illumination and pressure.
• Monitor and control ventilation sampling, testing and make recommendations for improvement.
• Monitor and manage sanitation and sterilization methods in the workplace.
• Monitor ventilation and occupational hygiene engineering controls.
• Measure and calculate the performance of main fans.
• Conduct audits and write reports.
• Compile ventilation and occupation hygiene reports.
• Monitor environmental conditions and report writing.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Assist production personnel to maintain a safe and healthy environment by monitoring, evaluate and report on Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene and make applicable recommendations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12/ Equivalent with Mathematics and Physical Science is essential
• Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control will be advantageous
• 2 years underground experience (Trackless Mining), of which stoping, and development preferred is essential
• Co-ordinate the activities of Ventilation Construction and Sanitation crews
• A valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
