Job summary

Sibanye Stillwater is seeking a senior Security Technology professional to lead CCTV operations across mining sites. You will ensure continuous monitoring, event verification and timely response to incidents in central Command & Control Centres.

The role requires extensive experience with integrated security systems, incident management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to safeguard critical operations and assets in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

  • NQF 7 degree/diploma in Security or related field.
  • 8+ years in security tech/ CCTV with 3–5 years in supervision/ control room.
  • Experience in mining/heavy industry, and in command & control centres.

Responsibilities

  • Lead CCTV operations across multiple mining sites to ensure 24/7 monitoring.
  • Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management of CCTV infrastructure.
  • Manage incident verification, evidence preservation and chain-of-custody.
  • Drive risk detection, analytics use and timely incident response in control rooms.
  • Coordinate with security, safety and operations to implement targeted interventions.

Job description

  • NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Security Management, Security Risk Management, Electronics, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum Qualifications
  • NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Security Management, Security Risk Management, Electronics, Information Technology, or related field.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a security Technology or CCTV systems environment and 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role or Control Room Management.
  • Proven experience in mining or heavy industrial environments, particularly within Command and Control Centres
  • Strong experience in managing integrated security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, intrusion detection)
  • Experience in control room operations, incident management, and real-time monitoring environments
  • Frequent local travel across all operational areas.
  • Experience in system maintenance, upgrades, and project implementation.
  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
  • Have Grade A accreditation with the Private Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) or be able to complete such registration within three months.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Service Delivery
  • Ensure the implementation of structured preventative and corrective maintenance programmes to sustain CCTV system functionality in harsh mining conditions.
  • Oversee service providers and technical teams to ensure compliance with SLAs, quality standards, and timely resolution of system faults.
  • Manage end-to-end fault management processes, including logging, tracking, escalation, repair, and system restoration.
  • Drive lifecycle management of CCTV infrastructure, including upgrades, replacements, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance and service activities minimise operational disruption and maintain optimal system availability.
  • Risk Management and Incident Support
  • Strengthen proactive risk detection and prevention through effective use of CCTV monitoring, analytics, and control room intelligence.
  • Support incident management by ensuring accurate video verification, reporting, evidence preservation, and chain-ofcustody compliance for investigations.
  • Enable Command and Control Centres to function as intelligence hubs for anticipating threats, coordinating responses, and supporting emergency interventions.
  • Analyse surveillance data, incident trends, and system reports to identify patterns, vulnerabilities, and emerging risks within mining operations.
  • Collaborate with security, safety, and operational teams to implement targeted interventions that mitigate identified risks and improve overall site security.
  • Stakeholder Relations
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and crossfunctionally.
  • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers. Page 3 of 7
  • Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
  • Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
  • Strategy and Systems Optimisation
  • Implement and continuously refine CCTV strategies aligned with Security Technology frameworks and mining risk profiles, Page 2 of 7 including theft, illegal mining, safety breaches, and operational disruptions.
  • Ensure strategic positioning and integration of CCTV systems to cover critical infrastructure, access points, production areas, and vulnerable zones.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through system optimisation, leveraging analytics, automation, and intelligent surveillance capabilities.
  • Conduct regular audits, site assessments, and gap analyses to evaluate system effectiveness, coverage, and alignment to risk exposure.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to support evolving operational, safety, and security demands in the mining environment.
  • CCTV Operations Management
  • Oversee the integrated operation of CCTV surveillance systems across all mining operations, including shafts, plants, perimeters, and high-risk areas.
  • Ensure 24/ 7 effective monitoring within Central Command and Control Centres to enable real-time detection, verification, and response to security, safety, and operational incidents.
  • Manage and optimise control room practices to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, escalation protocols, and incident response requirements.
  • Drive high system availability, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and performance of surveillance infrastructure in demanding mining environments.
  • Ensure alignment between CCTV operations and broader security, safety, and production requirements.
  • Financial Management
  • Managing the finances of the Division to achieve Organisational objectives. Working Cost Budgets:
  • Setting and approving budgeting parameters for the Division in line with business requirements and financial objectives.
  • Approving operational expenditure.
  • Formulating monthly and annual budgets. Cost Savings:
  • Leading and driving cost saving and cash conservation initiatives.
  • Remaining competitive on the global cost curve for surface operations.
  • Lead and manage security technology projects, including site assessments, scoping, costing, procurement, and implementation within budget.
  • Advice Senior Management in terms of Capital Expenditure Provide input to the annual budget
  • Building a values-based organisational culture
  • Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
  • People Management Recruitment:
  • Design the specific Operations’ discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.
  • Review and approve labour plans around operational targets. Performance Management:
