Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor for underground operations in Welkom. You will conduct precise underground and surface surveys, maintain control networks, and assist with mine planning data for production teams.

The role requires a National Diploma or Geomatics degree and SAGC Professional Mine Surveyor registration, with at least 4 years in underground surveying. Strong data processing and software skills are essential for this challenging environment.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) as a Professional Mine Surveyor.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, with significant exposure to underground mining.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate underground and surface surveys, including setting out development and production lines.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and digital terrain models using specialized software.
• Monitor and report on mine volume calculations for ore and waste material.
• Ensure all survey data is accurately recorded, processed, and filed according to company standards.
• Collaborate closely with mine planning engineers and production teams to provide necessary survey support.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative requirements and safety standards for mine surveying.
