Sure MirageTravel in Durban is seeking a Travel Consultant for a full-time, on-site role. You will advise clients on travel options, craft customized itineraries, and manage end-to-end travel arrangements from inquiry to booking.

Daily tasks include reservations for flights, accommodation, and tours; provide visa guidance and destination insights; resolve issues and coordinate changes while building strong relationships with clients and travel partners through in-person service at the Durban

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Travel Consulting and Travel Management, able to plan and coordinate itineraries.
• Experience with travel arrangements and reservations (flights, accommodation, transport, tours).
• Excellent customer service with clear communication, empathy and problem-solving.
• Attention to detail in travel documents, schedules and payments.
• On-site in Durban, able to collaborate with a team and manage multiple requests.

Role Description

The Travel Consultant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Durban. The person in this role will advise clients on travel options, create customized itineraries, and manage end-to-end travel arrangements. Daily tasks include handling inquiries, making reservations for flights, accommodation, and tours, and providing accurate travel information such as visa requirements and destination insights. The Travel Consultant will also resolve booking issues, coordinate changes and cancellations, and maintain strong relationships with clients and travel partners. This role requires consistent in-person collaboration with the team and direct customer interaction at the Durban office.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Travel Consulting and Travel Management, with the ability to plan and coordinate comprehensive travel itineraries.


• Proficiency in handling Travel Arrangements and Reservations, including flights, accommodation, transportation, and tour bookings.


• Excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on clear communication, empathy, and problem-solving for diverse client needs.


• Attention to detail and accuracy when managing travel documentation, schedules, and payment information.


• Ability to work on-site in Durban, collaborate with a team, and manage multiple client requests in a fast-paced environment.


• Comfort with booking systems and general computer literacy; experience with travel booking platforms or GDS is an advantage.


• Prior experience in a travel agency or tourism-related role is preferred but not mandatory.


• Relevant qualification in tourism, hospitality, or a related field is beneficial.
