Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer in Bloemfontein to lead road design and transportation projects. The role covers design, planning, and oversight of road infrastructure, collaborating with clients and authorities.

Ideal candidates have BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years in road/transportation engineering, with Pr Eng or Candidate Eng registration preferred. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in road and transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Proficiency in transportation design software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Pavement design software).
• Knowledge of traffic engineering principles and road safety standards.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan road alignments, intersections, and interchanges using advanced CAD software.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents for road construction projects.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and safety assessments for proposed road networks.
• Oversee construction supervision and ensure projects are completed according to design and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs comply with the latest road design codes and environmental regulations.
