Job summary

Bright Placements seeks an experienced Trails Guide to deliver exceptional safari experiences in South Africa. The role focuses on safe guiding, guest hosting, and contributing to conservation initiatives.

Candidates should hold FGASA level 1, a Full Trails qualification (or working towards it), and Wilderness First Aid certification. Big 5 experience is preferred, with strong organisational skills and a mature nature.

Qualifications

• FGASA level 1 certification (NQF2) is required.
• Full Trails qualification or working towards it is required.
• Wilderness First Aid certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Safari-related activities and host guests.
• Involve in Junior Conservationists program and education initiatives.
• Assist with conservation/reserve activities and equipment care.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are clean, neat and presentable.
• Maintain safety protocols and contribute to guest satisfaction.
• Drive morning, afternoon, night drives, family drives, bush walks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting Safari related activities
• Hosting of guests
• Involvement in Junior Conservationists program
• Strive to further education-level up
• Morning, afternoon, night drives, family drives, activities, bushwalks
• Conducting of safe and educational bush walks
• Help where needed as reasonably requested from time to time
• Help in conservation/Reserve related activities
• Respect for fellow colleagues
• Looking after equipment
• Make sure vehicle and equipment are always clean, neat and presentable.
• Min FGASA level 1(NQF2)
• Full Trails qualification (Back up trails guide working towards Full Trails Guide)
• Valid Wilderness First aid
• Valid PrDP
• Valid ARH
• SAPS business competency for rifles
• Great organisational skills
