Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst specializing in Threat Intelligence in Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on developing advanced threat detection, analysis, and response strategies to protect sensitive information and critical infrastructure.

The successful candidate will analyze OSINT and feeds, maintain threat models, and collaborate with incident response teams. A hybrid work model is available, with strong emphasis on mentoring and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of information security experience, with at least 3 years in threat intelligence.
• Proven experience with TIPs and SIEM platforms.
• Strong understanding of threat actor methodologies, TTPs, and kill chain.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for data analysis and automation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of threat intelligence data from OSSINT, commercial feeds, and internal tools.
• Identify, track, and report on emerging threats relevant to the organization and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain threat models and intelligence products to inform security strategies.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to provide timely intelligence during incidents.
• Develop automation for threat intelligence collection, processing, and dissemination.
• Create comprehensive reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay abreast of trends, attack techniques, and defensive measures.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to program improvement.
