Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Threat Analyst for our Durban security operations center. You will identify, analyze, and respond to threats affecting the organization and provide actionable intelligence for stronger defenses.

The role requires 2–4 years in cybersecurity, familiarity with SIEM/EDR/SOAR, and scripting skills (Python advantageous). Flexible hours and remote options are offered in a Durban-based posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or related field.
• 2–4 years of cybersecurity operations or incident response experience.
• Experience with SIEM/EDR/SOAR; understanding of TTPs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM/EDR/SOAR and other sources.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, determine root cause.
• Develop and maintain threat intelligence feeds and reports for security strategy.
• Conduct threat hunting to proactively identify and neutralize threats.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to contain and eradicate threats.
• Provide recommendations to improve security controls based on threat landscape.
