Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a Temporary SHEQ Representative to support implementing, monitoring and maintaining Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards within the organisation.

You will assist with inspections, incident investigations and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, ISO standards, and PPE requirements. The role requires strong admin skills, effective communication and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric is required.
• Experience in a SHEQ/health and safety role and knowledge of OH&S procedures.
• ISO 9001/14001/45001 knowledge is beneficial.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is needed.
• A SHEQ qualification and safety courses are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace health and safety inspections.
• Monitor compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
• Identify workplace hazards and assist with risk assessments.
• Ensure that employees comply with safety rules, PPE requirements and safe working practices.
• Assist with incident, accident and near-miss investigations and reporting.
• Maintain SHEQ documentation, registers, checklists and inspection reports.
• Assist with toolbox talks, safety inductions and employee awareness training.
• Monitor corrective and preventative actions to ensure identified risks are addressed.
• Assist with internal audits and compliance inspections.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents and non-compliance to management.
• Support environmental management and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure that safety signage, emergency equipment and relevant safety records are maintained.
• Assist with contractor and visitor safety compliance where applicable.
