Job summary

Responsibilities

• Control access and egress at SA Metal properties by registering and operating gates.
• Search pedestrians, vehicles and belongings of anyone exiting SA Metal premises.
• Issue PPE to customers/visitors entering SA Metal yard and collect PPE on exit.
• Ensure items leaving the premises are accompanied by relevant documentation.
• Conduct pre-employment checks such as breathalyzer tests where required.
• Patrol assigned areas at regular intervals.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
• Observe and report suspicious activities.
• Keep the Incident Report Book up to date.
• Book in/out empty and full containers/bins and secure them.
• Protect SA Metal’s property, assets, and all persons on premises.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as instructed by management.

Job description

The Security Department requires Security Officers at the Elandsfontein Branch who will be responsible for the below security tasks:

Ensure access and egress is controlled at all SA Metal properties by completing the necessary registers and operating the gates.

Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person(s) exiting SA Metal premises.

Ensure that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE when entering a SA Metal yard and that the PPE is returned after their visit

Ensure that any item(s) leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation

Ensure that all company procedures are adhered to before granting access to staff and visitors e.g. breathalyzer tests are conducted and passed.

Ensure that all the assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals.

Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are fully adhered to at all times.

Observe and report suspicious activities.

Keep the Incident Report Book up to date.

Ensure that empty and full Containers/Bins are booked in and out and secured

Ensure that SA Metal’s property and assets are protected

Ensure that all persons on SA Metal premises are protected

Ad-hoc tasks as per instruction from management

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12
• Grade C, PSIRA registered
• 2 to 3 years relevant experience
