Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd in Secunda is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee daily security operations at the Secunda branch. The successful candidate reports to the Security Manager and will supervise guards, patrols, and access control.

Key duties include inspecting officers, maintaining standards, deploying staff, conducting searches, and coordinating with Management. Required: Grade 12, PSIRA Grade B, 3 years supervisory experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security sector.
• PSIRA Grade B registration is required.
• Driver’s license will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection of security officers and equipment.
• Maintain security standards and ensure access/egress control.
• Deploy security staff and supervise patrols at regular intervals.
• Conduct weekly searches and locker searches.
• Train security officers to ensure safety of employees, clients, and property.
• Communicate security status and issues to Management.
• Ensure gates are manned and that policies are followed.
• Search pedestrians, vehicles, and belongings exiting SA Metal premises.
• Ensure supporting documentation for items leaving premises.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Group currently has a vacancy for a Security Supervisor to join the team at the Secunda branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the Secunda security operations. The successful candidate will report to the Security Manager. He/she will also have to:

• Daily inspection of security officers and equipment
• Maintain security standards
• Conduct weekly searches and locker searches
• Training security officers to ensure the safety of the company’s employees, clients and property
• Deployment of security staff
• Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems to Management
• Ensuring discipline and standards are maintained
• Ensure access and egress are controlled
• Ensure that all gates are always manned
• Ensure that all assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals
• Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises
• Ensure any item leaving SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation
• Ensure that all company rules, policies and procedures are always adhered to

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector.
• Driver’s license will be advantageous.
• Registered with PSIRA – Minimum Grade B.
