Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg is recruiting Security Officers at the Elandsfontein Branch to manage access control, patrol property, and ensure documentation accompanies outgoing items.

The role requires Grade 12, PSIRA Grade C registration, and 2–3 years relevant experience. You will uphold company policies, deliver professional service, and be prepared for extended hours.

Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks and receive a formal written offer upon completion.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• PSIRA Grade C registration is required.
• 2–3 years of security experience or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control access and egress at SA Metal properties, and complete registers.
• Search pedestrians, vehicles, and belongings exiting premises.
• Provide PPE to customers/visitors and collect PPE after visits.
• Ensure outgoing items have proper documentation.
• Patrol assigned areas at regular intervals.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
• Observe and report suspicious activity and keep incident books updated.
• Manage containers/bins and protect SA Metal assets and premises.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by management.

Job description

The Security Department requires Security Officers at the Elandsfontein Branch who will be responsible for the below security tasks:

• Ensure access and egress is controlled at all SA Metal properties by completing the necessary registers and operating the gates.
• Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person(s) exiting SA Metal premises.
• Ensure that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE when entering a SA Metal yard and that the PPE is returned after their visit
• Ensure that any item(s) leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation
• Ensure that all the assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals.
• Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are fully adhered to at all times.
• Observe and report suspicious activities.
• Keep the Incident Report Book up to date.
• Ensure that empty and full Containers/Bins are booked in and out and secured
• Ensure that SA Metal’s property and assets are protected
• Ensure that all persons on SA Metal premises are protected
• Ad-hoc tasks as per instruction from management

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12
• Grade C, PSIRA registered
• 2 to 3 years relevant experience
