Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead our security team and ensure protection of facilities in Cape Town. Reporting to the Security Manager, you will oversee security personnel, conduct patrols, enforce discipline, and manage incidents while upholding company policies.

Requirements include Grade 12, Code 8 driver's license, PSIRA Grade A, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in security. The role involves day and night shifts with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Code 8 driver's license is essential.
• At least 5 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector.
• Registered with PSIRA – Minimum Grade A.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willing to work irregular hours, shifts, and overtime.
• In good health and physical stature; sober and disciplined.
• Control Room experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security employees and manage shift operations.
• Conduct daily patrols, uniform checks and inspections.
• Enforce discipline per company policy and safety rules.
• Relieve officers for breaks and monitor coverage.
• Investigate incidents and report to Security Operations Manager.
• Identify risks and conduct risk assessments.
• Support security operations and control room when required.
• Ensure OH&S regulations are observed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd requires a committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their Security team as a Security Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of Security employees as well as providing security services to the Group. The successful candidate will report to the Security Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW)

• Manage security employees.

• Conduct daily parades and uniform inspection to maintain professional standards.

• Ensure discipline is enforced consistently in line with company policy.

• Ensure security officers are promptly relieved for breaks as per schedule.

• Monitor efficiency and productivity of all security personnel on shift.

• Ensure security equipment is maintained and managed correctly.

• Perform site inspections and discuss preventative measures.

• Conduct initial investigations and report findings immediately to the Security Operations Manager.

• Identify and mitigate risk.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures.

• Support management with security operations.

• Investigate and manage on-site incidents.

• Ensure that the Company rules, procedures and policies are adhered to at all times within the expected deadlines.

• Ensure that discipline is enforced.

• Ensure that Occupational Health and safety regulations are enforced and adhered to.

• Evaluating all collated information and documentation.

• Support control room as and when needed

QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills

• Code 8 driver's license is essential.

• At least 5 years of Supervisory experience in the Safety & Security Sector

• Registered with PSIRA -- Minimum Grade A

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Willing to work irregular hours (shifts) and overtime

• In good health and physical stature

• Control Room experience is advantageous.
